Advice... the same I give to all only melee users:
Get a secondary weapon. One that shoots
Otherwise you can be very limited inside buildings or under heavy aggro.

EDIT: Your problem is spending money? Go for SMG's and only pull them out under "stress". Or go for pistols.
Anyway, if you mostly rely on melee you won't spend that much money on bullets.
